NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.35 percent to 100.763 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.1121 U.S. dollars from 1.1078 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3207 dollars from 1.3120 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 140.71 Japanese yen, lower than 140.93 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.8454 Swiss francs from 0.8482 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3593 Canadian dollars from 1.3596 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar declined to 10.1983 Swedish Kronor from 10.2294 Swedish Kronor.
