NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.1 percent to 102.890 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.0939 U.S. dollars from 1.0922 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.3072 dollars from 1.3047 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 149.11 Japanese yen, higher than 148.76 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8570 Swiss francs from 0.8572 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3761 Canadian dollars from 1.3759 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.3676 Swedish Kronor from 10.4084 Swedish Kronor.
