NEW YORK, July 8 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.12 percent to 105.000 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0826 U.S. dollars from 1.0837 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2812 U.S. dollars from 1.2817 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 160.79 Japanese yen, higher than 160.72 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.8971 Swiss francs from 0.8959 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.3639 Canadian dollars from 1.3628 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar rose to 10.5695 Swedish kronor from 10.4776 Swedish kronor.
