NEW YORK, July 9 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.12 percent to 105.129 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.0813 U.S. dollars from 1.0826 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.2788 U.S. dollars from 1.2812 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 161.31 Japanese yen, higher than 160.79 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.8979 Swiss francs from 0.8971 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3630 Canadian dollars from 1.3639 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 10.5500 Swedish kronor from 10.5695 Swedish kronor.
