    NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Monday.

    The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.13 percent to 100.851 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

    In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.1116 U.S. dollars from 1.1165 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.3347 dollars from 1.3318 dollars in the previous session.

    The U.S. dollar bought 143.34 Japanese yen, lower than 143.87 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8467 Swiss francs from 0.8503 Swiss francs, and it lost to 1.3502 Canadian dollars from 1.3559 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 10.1909 Swedish Kronor from 10.1692 Swedish Kronor.
