DUBAI, July 23 (Xinhua) — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged to donate 100 million U.S. dollars to support development projects in countries impacted by irregular migration, according to the official news agency WAM.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, made this announcement during the International Conference on Development and Migration held in Rome, Italy.
With a focus on addressing the challenges posed by irregular migration, the conference highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive solutions to tackle its fundamental causes.
Participants stressed the importance of enhancing international cooperation to safeguard the well-being and dignity of migrants.
Additionally, the conference examined the connection between migration and socio-economic development and stability in the countries of origin for migrants.
