KYIV (Reuters) – Two Russian missile strikes have resulted in the death of five individuals and the injury of 31 others after striking residential buildings in the city of Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. The incident occurred on Monday.
Evidence in the form of videos and pictures, released by Ukrainian officials, depict individuals sifting through the wreckage, with one severely damaged five-story apartment building. Wounded individuals were receiving treatment from ambulances that had arrived at the scene.
Klymenko revealed that the first attack resulted in the deaths of four civilians, while a Donetsk emergency official lost their life in the second attack. Meanwhile, search and rescue operations are currently ongoing, as reported by Klymenko.
Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s presidential administration, later disclosed that two more victims were discovered as a result of Russian strikes in the village of Kruhliakivka, located in the Kupiansk district.
