In a statement on Thursday, the Ukrainian air force announced that 11 out of 17 drones launched by Russia were shot down by Ukrainian air defence and mobile drone hunter groups. The drones, which were Iranian-made Shahed drones, were taken down in four regions of Ukraine, including Odesa, Mykolayiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Vinnytsia.

Officials from the affected regions reported that the drone attack caused damage to more than 20 residential houses and commercial buildings in Mykolayiv, as well as civilian infrastructure facilities in Odesa. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the aftermath of the attack.

The exact extent of the damage in the other regions is not yet clear. It is expected that further assessment and investigation will be needed to fully understand the impact of the drone attack.

These recent developments come amidst heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia. The ongoing conflict between the two countries has increased in intensity in recent weeks, with both sides accusing each other of provocative actions.

Ukrainian authorities have been on high alert and have taken steps to defend the country from potential threats, including increased surveillance and response measures to counter any attempts to breach Ukrainian airspace.

It is imperative for Ukraine to remain vigilant and prepared for any potential attacks, as the situation continues to evolve. The Ukrainian air force and other defence groups will need to work together to protect the country and its people from external threats.

The international community will be closely monitoring the situation and offering support to Ukraine as it navigates through these challenging times. Diplomatic efforts will also be crucial in addressing the root causes of the conflict and finding a peaceful resolution.

As the situation unfolds, the Ukrainian government will continue to provide updates and seek assistance from its allies to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. The impact of the drone attack will be further evaluated in the coming days as Ukraine assesses the extent of the damage and plans for recovery and reconstruction.

Ultimately, the goal is to restore stability and peace in the affected regions and prevent further escalations in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
