COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy made a surprise visit to Norway, as announced by the Norwegian government on Wednesday.
Leaders of the five Nordic countries are scheduled to gather in Oslo on the same day.
During his visit, Zelenskiy will meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere to discuss Norway’s ongoing support for Ukraine, among other topics, according to the government.
Stoere emphasized Norway’s commitment to aiding Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democracy, stating, “Norway will continue to support Ukraine’s fight to defend itself. We are providing targeted, long-term support to assist Ukraine in its battle for freedom and democracy.”
He also stressed the importance of Ukraine’s efforts in safeguarding freedom and security in Norway.
