The U.S. government is making an effort to apprehend the individuals responsible for the murder of Ecuadorean presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio by offering a substantial reward of $5 million, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s statement on Thursday.
This announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to seek justice and hold accountable those who e=commit acts of political violence.
Blinken emphasized the importance of investigating such crimes and bringing the culprits to justice in order to bolster democracy and preserve the principles of free and fair elections.
