MELAKA: Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has formed a strategic partnership with a well-known TVET Higher Education Institution in China.
The memorandum of academic agreement signing between UTeM and Heilongjiang Agricultural Economics Vocational College (HAEVC) was conducted online on Friday (Nov 24).
Prof Datuk Dr Massila Kamalrudin, the vice chancellor of UTeM, represented the university while Prof Yan Haimin represented HAEVC.
Dr Massila mentioned that UTeM and HAEVC have agreed to collaborate on developing and offering programs in Diploma in Technology Management and e-commerce.
She noted that this program is aligned with UTeM’s TVET empowerment agenda, in line with HAEVC’s reputation as one of the top higher educational institutions in China.
She added, “HAEVC is also a leading institution in offering e-commerce programs at the diploma level, ranked among the top 10 vocational colleges in China.”
“This collaboration also further strengthens the close relationship between Malaysia and China, aiming to produce skilled professionals for developing countries,” she stated.
Prof Massila also highlighted that partnering with HAEVC enhances UTeM’s international strategic cooperation with industrial giants in China, such as Alibaba Education and Technology Co. Ltd, particularly in the field of e-commerce.
