KUALA LANGAT: An abduction victim, who was forcibly taken away for failing to pay for the rental of a car, has been rescued by the police.

Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said a report was lodged on the abduction on Aug 5, claiming that several unidentified men arrived with weapons and abducted two victims.

“One of the suspects had called for her brothers and took the victims away. One of the victims managed to return home shortly after, but attempts to reach the other were unsuccessful,” he said.

On Aug 8 at around 2.30am, police arrested five suspects, including two foreigners, after rescuing the victim in Bandar Bukit Raja in Klang.

“The motive was a dispute over unpaid compensation for a borrowed vehicle that belongs to one of the suspects,” said Supt Ahmad Ridhwan.

Police checks on the suspects, aged between 21 and 37, showed that two of them had previous criminal records.

“During the raid, police also seized a vehicle that had been reported stolen within the Klang area, alongside several tools believed to have been used for home burglaries as well as suspected stolen items,” he said.

The arrests have led to the resolution of at least five home burglaries in the Kuala Langat area, in addition to the abduction case.
