Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, the Perak Mentri Besar, emphasized the need to convince the youths of the nation that the political narrative being led by the unity government is the future of politics. He expressed that overcoming the skepticism of young people towards politics is a challenge that requires concrete action to demonstrate the unity government’s ability to initiate important reforms.
In his winding-up speech at the inaugural Perak Unity Government Convention at the Casuarina@Meru Convention Centre on Jan 28, he stressed the importance of nurturing the trust of young people in the political system. Saarani highlighted the necessity for the administrative machinery to consider the ideals and expectations of young people in every policy implemented.
He also emphasized the need to incorporate the views and thoughts of the youth into the development agenda, recognizing their wealth of innovative ideas and creativity. Moreover, he called for the government to anticipate the demands of young people and provide them with ample opportunities to be involved in the national agenda.
Saarani further urged grassroots leaders to play their roles in promoting greater unity among the component parties and to instill confidence in the people that the government is sincere in representing their interests.
