PETALING JAYA: Voting for the six states’ elections was closed at 6pm.
Vote counting will take place from now. Voting started at 8am.
As of 4pm, the turnout in Kedah was at 60%, Kelantan (56%), Terengganu (70%), Penang (67%), Selangor (65%) and Negri Sembilan (62%).
Meanwhile, the turnout for the Kuala Terengganu by-election was at 67%.
The Election Commission had expected the voter turnout in the six states’ election to exceed 85%.
The state polls had 9.78 million eligible voters. It involves 245 seats – 36 in Kedah, Kelantan (45), Terengganu (32), Penang (40), Selangor (56), and Negri Sembilan (36).
