As the seasons change and the temperature drops, Spotify users start listening to music that they won’t be embarrassed about when their annual Wrapped is unveiled.
If you’re not familiar with it, Spotify Wrapped is a yearly tradition that brings both nervousness and excitement to the platform’s listeners. Wrapped presents a personalized list of the songs and artists you listened to the most, and it allows you to share your highlights with others.
Wrapped always manages to surprise and shock us with the songs that appear in our lists. How did I listen to that song more than anything else?
So, if you want to hide the more shameful music from your Wrapped, it’s important to know the deadline to make any changes or corrections.
While many believed that the deadline was October 31st, Spotify has finally addressed when it stops tracking your music – in a way, at least.
In a now-deleted post from Pop Base, a pop culture account, they warned that Spotify will stop counting music by the end of October. However, Spotify confirmed that this is not true.
“Hmm, that doesn’t sound right to us,” the company wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Don’t worry, Wrapped is still counting past Oct 31.”
So, although we know that you have until Halloween and even beyond, the official last day for your music to count towards the 2023 Wrapped has not been announced.
“When is the last day???” one X user asked. “I need to fix my music.”
“GOOD!!!” wrote a Taylor Swift fan. “Because 1989 TV needs to count on my Wrapped.”
“THANK GOD,” expressed another relieved listener on X.
However, there is no guarantee that this year’s schedule will follow last year’s. Spotify released the 2022 Wrapped on November 30th. – The Charlotte Observer/Tribune News Service
