A woman was abducted by her husband after she declined to go on a vacation with him to Kelantan, according to Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail. The 38-year-old complainant was approached by two unidentified men on October 12 at an apartment in Jalan Ampang. They informed her that her husband was waiting for her at the staircase, and when she went to meet him, she was forcibly taken to a car and driven to Kelantan.
Once in Kelantan, the woman was confined in a homestay in Pasir Puteh. However, she managed to escape on October 13 while her husband was asleep. On October 19, the police apprehended two men in Taman Ampang. The first suspect, aged 39, works as a tahfiz manager and is the woman’s husband. The second suspect, aged 30, is a tahfiz school assistant.
The incident unfolded after the woman refused to accompany her husband on the trip to Kelantan and declined to register their marriage status. She is the suspect’s third wife. Both men have been placed under remand until October 24. The case is currently under investigation for kidnapping, as per Section 365 of the Penal Code.
