IPOH: Last night, two female motorcyclists who were caught on video performing dangerous stunts, including the ‘Superman-style’, while riding motorcycles on the North-South Expressway, were arrested by the police. According to Muallim district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir, the two suspects surrendered to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Muallim district police headquarters (IPD) at 9.10pm. The police successfully tracked them down after a 45-second video went viral on social media on Thursday (July 13), showing the two motorcyclists engaging in these risky stunts.
“Our preliminary investigations found that their actions were recorded at KM 375.9 northbound on Sunday,” said Mohd Hasni. “The riders, aged 18 and 21, were traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh.” This statement was made in response to the video where the two suspects performed a ‘Superman’ act at the Behrang rest and service area. During this act, they lifted their legs off the foot-rests, lay belly down on their motorcycles, and extended their legs straight out behind, creating the illusion that they were ‘flying’ while zig-zagging between moving vehicles.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that both suspects were from Pulau Indah in Selangor. One worked as an e-commerce platform operator and the other as a babysitter. Notably, both individuals did not possess a valid license and had no criminal record. As a result, they were issued summonses for not having a valid license, and the case is currently being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as stated by Mohd Hasni. – Bernama
