BAGHDAD — The Iraqi military announced that three Islamic State (IS) militants were eliminated in an airstrike targeting IS hideouts in Salahudin province, situated north of the capital city Baghdad. The attack was conducted based on intelligence reports, with Iraqi warplanes targeting IS sites in a rugged area near the town of al-Eith in the northern part of the province. As a result of the strike, three IS militants were killed, and four hideouts, along with numerous tunnels and caves used by the militants, were destroyed.

BEIRUT — The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated its need for $15.5 million in funds to address the emerging requirements resulting from armed clashes at the Ain Al-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp located in southern Lebanon. The agency reported that thousands of civilians were displaced from their homes, which were either damaged or destroyed. Additionally, armed militants took over and severely damaged all eight UNRWA schools, which provided education to 5,900 children.
JERUSALEM — An Israeli individual was stabbed by a Palestinian disguised as an ultra-Orthodox Jew in Jerusalem. The incident occurred at the Shivtei Israel light rail stop near East Jerusalem, prompting Israeli police to respond. A border police officer in the area shot and killed the perpetrator of the knife attack, as confirmed by the police’s official statement.
