In Seremban, a teenager of 17 years old has been accused of murdering a 74-year-old man in Siliau, as charged at the Magistrate’s Court. The teenager did not enter a plea following the reading of the charge by Magistrate Syed Farid Syed Ali. The charge brought against the accused was for allegedly committing murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, involving the death of Muhammad Zahid Nagappan.
The alleged murder took place between 11.30pm on January 3 and 10am the next morning at a house in Kg Pasir. Deputy public prosecutor M.Pusppa requested a remention in court due to the post-mortem report not being ready, and also stated that bail would not be offered to the accused as it is considered a non-bailable offence. Magistrate Syed Farid then scheduled the remention for March 18.
During the court appearance, the accused did not have legal representation, and no plea was recorded. The accused and his 25-year-old brother were arrested by the police on January 4, following the discovery of the victim’s body. The victim, who was unemployed, was believed to have been stabbed in the back and had injuries to both his ankles.
