KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi held a meeting with Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif on Wednesday (Oct 2).
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said several important topics were discussed during the meeting, with Maimunah presenting various ideas and aspirations for the continuity of infrastructure development and enhancing the well-being of Kuala Lumpur’s residents.
“Alhamdulillah, many matters were discussed during my meeting with the Mayor.
“God willing, I will continue to be involved in realising the city’s development agenda, particularly in tackling traffic congestion, enhancing urban greening, and preparing Kuala Lumpur for Asean 2025 and Visit Malaysia Year 2026,” he said in a post on Facebook on Wednesday (Oct 2).
Ahmad Zahid emphasised that close cooperation between the federal government and local authorities is crucial to ensuring that all planning and development efforts proceed smoothly, benefiting the people and creating a better environment for future generations.
In a separate post, the Deputy Prime Minister said he also received a courtesy visit from Malaysian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Badli Hisham Adam at his office.
“Various issues related to bilateral relations between Malaysia and Sri Lanka, as well as potential areas for future cooperation, were discussed during the meeting.
“May the ties between Malaysia and Sri Lanka continue to strengthen, opening up more opportunities for meaningful collaboration and bringing prosperity to the people of both nations,” he added. — Bernama
