IPOH: The Perak Civil Defence Force (APM) is monitoring 110 flood hotspots due to continuous high tide and heavy rain.

Perak APM director Kolonel (PA) Rohaizat Hadli said APM conducted regular monitoring via all district operations control centres in the state which are open round the clock.

He said more than 1,000 members and officers of APM Perak are ready to mobilise in the event of a flood disaster.

“We have prepared logistics such as 4WD vehicles, ambulances as well as boats. So far no temporary evacuation centre has been opened,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Kol Rohaizat added that he expects the situation in Hilir Perak district to return to normal soon.

Earlier, several areas in the district were reported to be inundated, with the main road flooded and cut off due to high tide.
