In Ops Dadu Khas, the police have arrested 21 more individuals, which includes two women, for their involvement in gambling activities. According to the Johor police chief, Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat, these arrests were made on Friday (Sept 29) after conducting inspections at 18 locations across Johor. The suspects, with ages ranging from 19 to 56, consist of 18 local men, one foreign man, one local woman, and one foreign woman. The police have seized 21 mobile phones, 10 printers, and RM3,053 in cash during the operation. Comm Kamarul Zaman mentioned that since the launch of this operation on September 22, a total of 171 locations have been inspected, resulting in the arrest of 198 individuals. Among those arrested, 162 are men and 36 are women, with ages ranging from 18 to 66. The case is currently under investigation, and it falls under Sections 4A(a) and 4B(a) of the Open House Gambling Act 1953. Any premises found involved in illegal activities will have their licenses revoked by the local authority, and the electricity supply will be cut off by Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
