KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the National Day celebrations, a total of 22 roads in Putrajaya will be closed from 5am to 11am. Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid stated that the closure will be executed in stages to ensure smooth festivities. He mentioned that around 100,000 visitors are expected at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31 and that 1,764 police officers and personnel will be deployed from Aug 25 to 31, including for rehearsals and the eve of National Day.
The following is a list of the 22 roads that will be closed in Putrajaya on Aug 31:
1. Persiaran Perdana till Laman Perdana
2. Lebuh Wawasan till Persiaran Perdana Two (both directions)
3. Lebuh Saujana till Persiaran Perdana
4. Lebuh Bestari till Persiaran Perdana
5. Jalan Pembangunan from the direction of Jalan Tun Abd Razak and Jalan Permodenan
6. Jalan Kemerdekaan towards the direction of Persiaran Perdana
7. Jalan Tun Abd Razak till Lebuh Wawasan
8. Jalan Tuanku Abd Rahman towards Lebuh Wawasan
9. Jalan P3F till Persiaran Perdana
10. Jalan P2K till Persiaran Perdana
11. Jalan P3C till Persiaran Perdana
12. Jalan P2S till Persiaran Perdana
13. Jalan P2W till Persiaran Perdana
14. Jalan P2P till Persiaran Perdana
15. Lebuh Setia till Persiaran Perdana
16. Jalan Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah till Bulatan Putra
17. Lebuh Setia till Jalan Perdana
18. Jalan Perpaduan towards Lingkaran Gemilang
19. Jalan Tun Hussein till Lebuh Bestari

Comm Allaudeen advised the public to plan their travels accordingly and utilize public transport options to avoid traffic congestion. He added that shuttle buses are available at Putrajaya Central Terminal. For those who prefer to drive, there are approximately 10 parking areas available, including in the vicinity of Masjid Tuanku Zainal Abidin, Tugu Millennium, MyFarm at Precinct 9, and Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
Comm Allaudeen also reminded the public not to fly unauthorized drones at or near Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31, as they will be taken down by the authorities. Additionally, he assured that traffic police will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow on that day.
