TANGKAK: A 47-year-old man was fatally injured when a lorry trailer ran over him at KM12.5 Jalan Muar-Segamat.
Tangkak OCPD Supt Roslan Talib stated that the incident took place at 9.55pm on Friday (Sept 8) while the victim was traveling from Sungai Mati.
“Investigations have revealed that the lorry was exiting from an intersection near a petrol station when the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, failed to avoid the collision and crashed into the right side of the trailer.
“The victim collided with the lorry door and was pronounced dead at the scene. He had also sustained injuries throughout his body,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Sept 9).
Supt Roslan added that the 47-year-old lorry driver remained unharmed. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
