The operation was reactivated nationwide to tackle cross-border crimes, particularly in high-risk areas during Ramadan and Syawal.

The special operation is divided into four phases: preparatory phase (data collection and asset preparation) from March 12 to 17, enforcement before the festive period from March 18 to April 1, enforcement during the festive period from April 2 to 16, and enforcement after the festive period from April 17 to 30. Hamid emphasized the success achieved so far as a result of the dedication and hard work of MMEA staff and officers.

He encouraged them to maintain the momentum throughout the remainder of the operation. The operation’s primary objective is to enhance maritime security, combat illegal activities, and safeguard the nation’s waters. The efficiency of the operation demonstrates MMEA’s commitment to upholding the law and protecting the country’s maritime borders.

Hamid also highlighted the importance of continuous vigilance and collaboration among various agencies to ensure the success of Ops Khas Pagar Laut. He commended the joint efforts of MMEA, Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Navy, and other enforcement agencies in combating maritime crimes effectively.
