    64-year-old woman falls from Penang Bridge, presumed drowned

    GEORGE TOWN: A 64-year-old woman is feared drowned after falling from the Penang Bridge on Monday (July 24).

    Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victim reportedly jumped off at KM2.2 of the bridge heading towards the island.

    “We received the info from police informing us that a woman had jumped off from the bridge at 4.21am,” said the spokesman, adding that rescuers are now scouring the sea for her body.

    The spokesman said the victim also left all her belongings in the car.

    A tragic incident occurred in George Town on Monday when a 64-year-old woman fell from the Penang Bridge, and she is now feared drowned. According to a spokesman from the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, the victim jumped off at KM2.2 of the bridge, heading towards the island. The incident was reported to authorities by the police at 4.21 in the morning. Currently, rescuers are conducting search efforts in the sea in hopes of finding the woman’s body.
