    81-year-old man killed in Bkt Gambir fire

    An 81-year-old man died in a house fire in Kampung Sungai Pilah, Bukit Gambir, Tangkak. The Tangkak Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 6.16am on Sunday (Aug 27). They deployed 16 personnel and two fire trucks to the scene.

    When the team arrived, they found the house had already been 80% destroyed by the fire. They managed to extinguish the fire by 6.54am. During an inspection of the house, they discovered the remains of the elderly man. The medical team declared him dead at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Tangkak deputy OCPD DSP Idris Abdul Rahman confirmed that the police have received a report on the incident.
