Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (oic) has been reelected as the president of PAS for the 2023-2025 term without any opposition. Along with him, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and vice-presidents Datuk Idris Ahmad, Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah, and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar also retained their respective positions. The announcement was made by PAS Muktamar election committee chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Halim Tamuri during the 69th PAS Muktamar (annual general assembly) held in Shah Alam on Sunday (Oct 22).
Abdul Hadi, who is also the Marang MP and currently 76 years old, was initially appointed as the acting PAS president in 2003 and later confirmed to the post at the muktamar in 2005.
In the meantime, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor received the highest number of votes and topped the list of the 18 PAS Central Committee Members for the 2023-2025 term with 1,098 votes. Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, the outgoing PAS Youth chief, secured the second-highest number of votes with 1,042, making him a newcomer in the central committee.
