Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has expressed his concern over the decision of two Bersatu MPs to support the Prime Minister, describing it as a serious breach of party discipline. The Bersatu president stated that the MPs were chosen based on their belief in Perikatan Nasional’s struggle and that the move to support the Prime Minister is contrary to the party’s mandate.
According to Muhyiddin, the party’s supreme council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss this latest development, as he believes it was an orchestrated move from a rival party to weaken Bersatu and Perikatan by bribing and threatening its MPs. In a Facebook post, he further emphasized that Bersatu will not bow and that more severe action will be taken.
Calling for calm, Muhyiddin urged Bersatu members to remain steadfast in defending the party’s principles while the party’s leadership handles the issue. The two MPs in question, Mohd Azizi Bau Naim and Zahari Kechik, pledged their support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, following the announcement of support for Anwar by Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman and Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid.
