PETALING JAYA: Some 200 cats will be up for adoption at the Oh My Meow Expo from Aug 4-6. The event will be held from 10am to 9pm on all three days at the Mid Valley Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. All the cats up for adoption are those rescued by independent rescuers and the adoption process will be coordinated by Findapet.my, which is a free of charge online platform for pet adoption. Findapet.my founder Shaun Lee said adopters are required to pay a small fee, which will go to the independent rescuers, for adoption. “This helps the rescuers cover some of their cost and it will also help us filter between serious and impulse adopters. And for every adoption, adopters will receive a welcome pack comprising items such as treats as well as wet and dry cat food,’’ added Lee. He said the items have been donated by the 100 vendors who will be participating in the expo. All the cats and kittens that will be put up for adoption have been vaccinated, neutered and given a clean bill of health, said Lee. The 100 vendors, made-up of big brands as well as small and medium enterprises, will be offering a variety of pet-related items. Hence, those who are interested in purchasing anything ranging from pet food, treats and accessories can find what they want at the Oh My Meow Expo.
