KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali announced that Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh will take over as the new Attorney General, replacing Tan Sri Idrus Harun. The appointment of Terrirudin has been approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and will come into effect on September 6, a day after Idrus’ contract ends.
Mohd Zuki expressed gratitude to Idrus for his service as the nation’s Attorney General in a statement released on Friday, September 1.
On March 6, 2020, Idrus, who previously served as a Federal Court judge, was appointed as the AG.
Ahmad Terrirudin, who held the position of Federal Court chief registrar, was later appointed as the Solicitor General in 2020.
