After stepping down from his position as Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid plans to revisit his interest in the legal field, a passion he had set aside 38 years ago when he chose a career in law enforcement. Beginning his tenure with the Police on July 1, 1985, the individual with a Master of Laws degree from the University of Malaya expressed his intention to join a law firm after completing the necessary steps to become a practicing lawyer.
He stated, “It’s more about self-satisfaction. I need to complete what I started, which is the journey of becoming a student again and undergoing a period of chambering before being officially recognized as a lawyer. So far, that’s my initial plan…We’ll see how things progress,” he shared with Bernama after appearing as a guest on Bernama TV’s Ruang Bicara show on Friday evening.
Reflecting on his time in the police force, Allaudeen mentioned that one of his standout memories was from his service in the Forest Police Force (PPH) in 1986. He recalled engaging with communists, participating in border operations, and a frightening incident where his vehicle nearly tumbled off a cliff. “PPH has molded its members with a strong sense of identity. I acquired essential leadership skills during my time there. If I possess good leadership qualities today, it’s attributable to what I learned at PPH,” he expressed.
Furthermore, Allaudeen expressed optimism for the police force to uphold high levels of integrity as they continue to spearhead the country’s security initiatives to promote economic progress and protect the well-being of the populace. “The police will maintain collaboration with the community. As long as you adhere to the regulations and follow the law, the police will not take action against you. My advice is to cooperate with the police for the greater good,” he advised. – Bernama
