TEMERLOH: Four staff members from the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan experienced a harrowing moment when the ambulance they were in crashed and landed on its side following an accident at KM115.2 of the East Coast Highway (LPT) here on Sunday (Sept 29).

Temerloh district police chief Asst Comm Mazlan Hassan said in the 12.30pm incident, two passengers sustained minor injuries.

He said initial investigations showed the accident happened when the ambulance was travelling from Selayang to Kuantan.

“The ambulance went out of control when trying to avoid a motorcycle which had skidded.

“It then hit the right side of the road barrier and crashed,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

He explained that two passengers, a 42-year-old male ambulance driver and a 34-year-old male nurse sustained minor injuries.

“Two others, a 43-year-old male driver’s assistant and a 34-year-old female nurse, were uninjured,” he said.
