There was an accident at a traffic light junction near the Sri Sendayan mosque in Seremban, where an ambulance driver and the two patients he was transporting all suffered light injuries. The accident occurred at 6.10am on Friday (Oct 20), and a medical assistant traveling in the ambulance as well as the 57-year-old driver of a car were also injured. The 43-year-old ambulance driver was taking two male patients aged 18 and 66 to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (TJH), originating from Sepang in Selangor. The ambulance was equipped with beacon lights and a siren, and the driver was driving through the traffic light junction when it was red. However, the driver of the car coming from the right was unable to stop in time and collided with the side of the ambulance, causing it to overturn. All five victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses are urged to contact the district police station at 06-603 3222. The case is being investigated under rule 17 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
