Datuk Amizar Abu Adam, a member of the Bentong Umno Committee, has been announced as the Barisan Nasional candidate for the Pelangai state by-election on October 7th. The announcement was made by Pahang Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail in Bentong. Wan Rosdy urged party members to support Amizar’s candidacy and ensure a high voter turnout. He specifically mentioned the 3,040 Umno members in Pelangai and hoped that at least 90% of them would come out to vote. He also called for continued support to secure a big win for their candidate.
The announcement event was attended by several political figures, including Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, and MIC vice-president Datuk M Asojan.
