Around 1,000 enthusiasts gathered in Melaka for the Japan’s Anime Song Festival, giving a boost to J-Pop culture in the state. The two-day event, which started on October 6, featured popular Japanese artists such as Aoi Garnet, Sard Underground, BAAD, Shuichi Ikemori of DEEN, and Seiki Takayama of ZYYG. These artists captivated the crowd with iconic anime theme songs from celebrated shows like Slam Dunk, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball GT, and Sailor Moon. The festival also aimed to promote local talents including Hael Husaini, rock band Sweetass, and anime musical artist Rina Hime.
Sheng Tai International, the event organizer, stated that the festival provided a remarkable experience for tourism stakeholders in the state, showcasing the power of Japanese music anime. “This festival was a testament to the potential that the state holds as a hub for cultural fusion and global entertainment,” expressed Datuk Leong Sir Ley, the founder and chairman of Sheng Tai. The event came to fruition through a collaboration with Chiakiss Malaysia and Sheng Tai International.
