KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India for the successful landing of the Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 on the southern polar region of the moon on Wednesday (Aug 23).
In a Facebook post on Thursday (Aug 24), the Malaysian Prime Minister extended Malaysia’s pride for the unprecedented landing, highlighting it as a triumph not only for India, but also for Asia as a whole.
“India has now achieved the feat of reaching the moon, which I consider a success not only for India, but also for Asia and all its citizens.
“Malaysia also takes great pride in this accomplishment, signifying the dawn of ‘The Asian Century’. Congratulations, India!” he remarked.
India made history by becoming the first nation to touch down on the little-explored south pole region of the moon.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission to the moon was initiated on July 14.- Bernama
