KEPALA BATAS: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for expedited efforts to revitalize the economy and eradicate hardcore poverty, especially among the bumiputra community. He has instructed the coordination unit under the Prime Minister’s Department to assist in these endeavors. Speaking at the Penang Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Gathering 2023 on Saturday (Aug 5), Anwar declared, “I don’t mind facing ridicule, but I will not tolerate continued poverty beyond this year.”
Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow was also in attendance.

Anwar expressed his sadness over mothers who are unable to afford milk for their children and school uniforms. He vowed to spare no effort in lifting these marginalized groups out of poverty.
Furthermore, Anwar revealed that he would be contacting Turkiye’s president Tayyip Erdogan later in the day to discuss increasing investments between the two nations. This follows a string of major international investments pouring into the country, including discussions with billionaire Elon Musk regarding automaker Tesla’s potential investment in the nation.
