Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed Felda and the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) to provide explanations for the losses reported in the Auditor-General’s Report.

He stated that both entities have been given a two-week deadline to submit their reports.

“We want a comprehensive report to address any identified weaknesses and take corrective actions if necessary,” said Anwar after attending Friday prayers in Putrajaya.

He mentioned that the Cabinet will review the reports submitted by Felda and LTAT.

When asked about the possibility of forming a special committee to investigate the losses, Anwar emphasized the importance of analyzing the Auditor-General’s Report and listening to the agencies’ explanations.

“Our focus now is to address the issues, rectify the weaknesses, and improve the situation,” he added.

The recent Auditor-General’s Report disclosed that Felda incurred losses amounting to RM1 billion, while LTAT’s reserves have been in the negative since 2020.

In response, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) announced its plan to investigate LTAT’s losses post Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“Though the PAC was advised to prioritize Felda, LTAT, and Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia in its investigations, we have decided to begin with LTAT,” stated PAC Chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
