Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged government programmes to stop asking guests to arrive early and wait for events to begin. The Prime Minister has instructed government departments to change this practice. During a Ramah Mesra Madani programme with the people at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Anwar explained that if an event requires him to arrive at 1pm, it is acceptable to invite guests to come at 12.45pm. He further stated that it is reasonable if guests arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for seating arrangements. Anwar questioned the need for guests to arrive an hour in advance if his arrival is scheduled for 1pm, considering it a waste of time and unproductive.
