KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has provided assistance to former national squash champion Kenneth Low, who is currently suffering from multiple sclerosis, a chronic nerve disease.
On Thursday (Sept 14), Anwar announced on his Facebook page that his political secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, had presented the contribution to Low during a visit to Wangsa Maju.
Anwar expressed his hope that Low would experience better health and make a full recovery in the future.
The visit also included the presence of Datuk Noorul Ariffin Abdul Majeed, the chairman of the National Athletes Welfare Foundation (Yakeb), and Firdaus Wong, the president of the Multi-racial Reverted Muslims.
Earlier reports highlighted that Low, once ranked fourth in Asia and 38th in the world for squash, now works as a cleaner and faces various health issues.
It is believed that Low suffered a stroke, resulting in coordination and motor skills problems, cognitive disability, short-term memory impairment, and a lack of finances to undertake brain damage tests.
