KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed his satisfaction with the performance of government agencies during his eight-month administration. He specifically praised the performance of Amanah Raya Berhad (AmanahRaya), a government agency under the Finance Ministry. According to Anwar, he closely monitored all agencies for deficiencies and leaks, and so far, AmanahRaya’s performance has been good.

Anwar made these remarks at the 100th AmanahRaya anniversary and the launch of its special 100th anniversary logo in Bukit Kiara today (Aug 25). He emphasized that AmanahRaya has a heavy responsibility in holding the trust of the poor, people with disabilities, and orphans. He stated that neglecting this responsibility would be considered a betrayal to religion.

Anwar called for a paradigm shift to uphold the dignity of the nation and urged all parties to be ready to join him in this effort. He emphasized that Islam demands a change for the better, leaving behind destructive aspects harmful to the country. He also highlighted the importance of accepting the fact that the world is changing and that new measures are necessary to adapt.

Anwar said, “In this context, there should be change which must come from the noble conscience and soul.” He believes that all parties should embrace this change and strive for continued positive development while leaving behind negative and destructive elements.

These comments were made during the 100th AmanahRaya anniversary event, where Anwar expressed pride in the agency’s performance and stressed the need for responsible leadership and a clean record. He hopes that AmanahRaya’s positive spirit will be maintained by the entire machinery and not solely rely on the leaders.
