Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that he will be looking into the allegations made against businessman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak regarding the purchase of shares in a company that was shortlisted for a RM1 billion government contract. Anwar mentioned that he will only make a statement on the matter after gathering more information.
“I will check with the Treasury and release a statement,” Anwar told reporters after attending the Iftar ceremony at Masjid Ashabus Solihin, Taman Rakan on Wednesday (March 27). The call for investigation on Farhash was made by Umno supreme council member Isham Jalil, who raised concerns about the alleged purchase of 16.1 million units of Heitech Padu shares through Rosetta Partners investment company, with an estimated value of RM40 million.
Anwar also took the time to participate in breaking fast with residents from Taman Rakan and students from tahfiz schools at the mosque, accompanied by his daughter Nurul Izzah.
