PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s upcoming visit to China will result in further investments for Malaysia, similar to the previous visit in March, according to Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.
“Each time the Prime Minister visits China, it is not simply an exchange of pleasantries,” said Rafizi. “There are subsequent actions and, regarding the memoranda of understanding and investments signed during the previous visit, he followed up with his office and the relevant departments. I hope this visit will result in another round of such investments.”
Anwar is scheduled to make his second visit to China by attending the China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO) 2023 in Nanning, China on September 17. The purpose of the visit is to enhance the relationship between the two countries and prepare for the 50th anniversary of the Malaysia-China relationship next year.
Rafizi indicated that Anwar and the Chinese leadership have a strong relationship, with regular meetings and subsequent discussions. He stated, “Such relations not only strengthen cooperation between governments but also facilitate increased investments and cross-border investments between Malaysia and Chinese companies.”
