KUALA LUMPUR: Army chief General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan was honored with the Maroon Beret and the Honorary Airborne Wing of the 10th Brigade (Para) at the Dataran Parawood, 8th Royal Malay Regiment, Terendak Camp, Melaka on Saturday (Oct 21).
With this recognition, Muhammad Hafizuddeain joins the ranks of 69 other senior military officers who have received the highest honors, following in the footsteps of Malaysian Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman on April 17.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Malaysian Army Headquarters Public Relations Cell announced that the event commenced with a dynamic demonstration from the 10th Parachute Brigade, which involved 40 officers and 1,100 personnel performing various activities such as free fall parachute jumps, unarmed combat, combat swimming, tactical combat casualty care, a multi-purpose tower demonstration, and section attacks.
The audience was also treated to a thrilling display of a freefall parachute jump using a military tactical glider from a height of 5,000 feet, utilizing an EC 725 aircraft from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
Furthermore, the event showcased an Unarmed Combat Demonstration performed by the 361 Battery Royal Parachute Artillery Regiment, which demonstrated defensive strategies such as blocking and strikes.
