    Arrested: Kota Baru resident caught with 2,000 yaba pills

    KOTA BARU: A man was arrested and 2,000 Yaba pills worth RM20,000 were seized at an eatery in Jalan Cherang, here late Thursday night, according to district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud.

    The suspect, who is in his 30s, was detained while he was walking out of the restaurant. Upon realizing the presence of the police, he attempted to flee but was apprehended. In addition to the arrest, the police also discovered 10 plastic packets, each containing 200 Yaba pills.

    During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect tested negative for drug use and he does not have any previous criminal records,” said ACP Mohd Rosdi in a statement on Saturday (July 22).

    The police also confiscated a Perodua Viva car. The authorities are now looking into the possibility of the suspect’s involvement with other wanted individuals.
