PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the August 2023 Supplementary Electoral Roll (DPT BLN8/2023) has been verified and gazetted on Tuesday (Oct 3). The EC has opened a 30-day review period for the electoral roll, which will last until Nov 1, 2023.

According to EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak, the DPT BLN8/2023 contains the names of 41,612 citizens who are 18 years old and above. These individuals were automatically registered as new voters based on their age between Aug 1 and 31, 2023. The list also includes 12,915 registered voters who changed their electoral divisions and 763 voters who changed their voter status/category.

The EC has provided five different methods for reviewing the electoral roll. Citizens can review the list through the EC portal at https://www.spr.gov.my or https://mysprsemak.spr.gov.my. They can also visit the official portal of the State Election Offices at http://ppn.spr.gov.my or use the online application at https://myspr.spr.gov.my.

Additionally, the MySPR Semak mobile application and the Voter Registration Check Hotline at 03-8892 7218 are available for conducting checks. The EC emphasizes that citizens aged 18 and above during the period from Aug 1, 2023, to Aug 31, 2023, as well as registered voters who have applied for a change of electoral division or change of status, should review the DPT BLN8/2023 to verify the presence of their names.

If their names are not listed in the DPT BLN8/2023, they can make a claim by filling in Form C through the online application at https://myspr.spr.gov.my or by visiting the relevant State Election Office, according to Ikmalrudin. Registered voters in an electoral division who wish to make an objection after reviewing the electoral roll can fill in Form D online at myspr.spr.gov.my or go to the relevant state election office.

For any inquiries regarding the review of DPT BLN8/2023, the public can visit the EC’s official portal at https://www.spr.gov.my or contact the EC or their respective State Election Office at 03-8892 7218. – Bernama
