Police in Ipoh have taken three statements regarding a bullying incident that occurred at a secondary school in Gunung Rapat. The statements were obtained from the school’s principal and other students, according to Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan. The victim, a 15-year-old student from Kuala Lumpur, suffered a soft tissue injury to his left face and received outpatient medical treatment at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital. The perpetrator, a 17-year-old student from the same school, has been identified. Although he is still attending school, he has been ordered to leave the school’s dormitory while the investigation continues. The incident took place on Monday when the victim was hit and kicked by his senior. Perak Education Committee chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah confirmed that the school is following standard operating procedure and conducting its own investigation into the matter. The victim’s mother filed a police report on Monday. The police investigation is ongoing, and once completed, the findings will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.
