PETALING JAYA: A babysitter has been taken into custody in relation to the death of a two-month-old infant girl at a daycare facility in Kota Damansara here.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid mentioned that the woman, who is in her 40s, was apprehended at approximately 3pm on Friday (Oct 13).
“The babysitter is a foreigner, who is married to a local man.
“She was detained and subsequently released on police bail after having her statement recorded,” he said when contacted on Saturday (Oct 14).
ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin mentioned that the police are still awaiting the post-mortem report.
He urged the public to allow the police ample space to thoroughly investigate the matter.
The victim, Qaseh Aulia Faizul, was brought to the daycare facility on Tuesday (Oct 10), as stated by her father Faizul Ali Adam in a viral video.
Faizul mentioned that shortly after, he received a call from the facility, informing him that his daughter was unconscious and would be taken to a nearby hospital.
The infant passed away upon arrival at the hospital.
After observing the footage from the surveillance camera at the facility, Faizul filed a police report suspecting negligence on the part of the babysitter while taking care of his child.
