IPOH: Human remains that were badly decomposed have been discovered on Pangkor Laut in Pulau Pangkor.
The Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Nordin Abdullah stated that a member of the public found the remains around noon on Sunday (Dec 10).
“Our enforcement team, along with Kg Acheh marine police and Pangkor Island Fire and Rescue Department, arrived at the location at 12.50pm,” he said.
He mentioned that the victim was wearing blue jeans and a red shirt, but did not have any identification documents.
“We were unable to determine the victim’s gender. It is believed that the victim passed away more than two weeks ago,” he stated in a release on Monday (Dec 11).
ACP Mohamed Nordin noted that the remains were transported to the forensic unit at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
“We have categorized the case as a sudden death. Anyone with information about the case can contact the Manjung police headquarters at 05-688 6222 or the nearest police station,” he urged.
